Rose Colored Glasses

Nobody could see the hold you had over me
Everyone thought our love was beautiful
You told me over a thousand lies
Over a million different times
You don’t understand what you put me through
You didn’t see the the walls I struggled  to break through
Sometimes it felt like I couldn't breathe
Wounds cut real deep

I became depressed
Tangled up in a crazy mess
If you had looked through my eyes
You would have felt the fear I hid inside

You told me over a thousand lies
Over a million different times
Nobody could see the hold you had over me
Everyone thought our love was beautiful

Trapped in my own mind
Felt like I was stuck in time
I tried to let go a thousand times
But you brought me back every time

Why did you bring me up,
If you were just going to knock me down ?
Why did you tell me you loved me,
Then end up hurting me?
You told me over a thousand lies
Over a million different times
Nobody could see the hold you had over me
Everyone thought our love was beautiful
